František Stupka (January 18, 1879 - November 24, 1965) He was a pupil O. Sevcik. Between 1902 - 1919 he was a professor in Odessa Conservatory, where he founded the Czech Quartet composed Jaroslav Kocian, František Stupka, Perman and Ladislav Josef Zelenka and where he later worked as a conductor. In the years 1919 - 1946 he was conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and in the years 1946 - 1956 he was principal conductor and artistic director of the Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc. At that time, from 1947 to 1951 he served as professor of Janáček Academy of Performing Arts. Interpret especially works by Bedrich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Janáček and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In Prague 7 (Holešovice) is a street that is named after Francis Stupka - Stupkova. František Stupka's great-granduncle Czech cellist Frantisek Brikcius.
